 Positive Behaviour System

Self discipline is a crucial part of the Pastoral Care structure within the school and the school prides itself on the promotion of a positive rewards system which leads to pupils taking responsibility for their actions and gives them confidence.

The school also works closely with outside government and voluntary agencies to deal with personal or social issues which may arise.

The College operates a Green Card system where outstanding behaviour in terms of either academic success or initiative is acknowledged with a Green Card. Each term pupils who achieve a set number of Green Cards for a range of reasons are given a reward, the cost of which is covered by the school.

The benefits of this system means that at all times all pupils have an incentive to work to their best potential throughout
the school day/week and are given proper and meaningful recognition.

  • Pupils in the College are also acknowledged for their achievements through:
  • Displays on the Plasma Screen
  • Year Group Assemblies
  • School Newsletter
  • Articles in the Local Press
  • Prize Night

The College believes that celebration of success is crucial for pupils’ self esteem and each month pupils who have made particular effort across a range of subjects are rewarded by their Form Teachers or Head of Year.
