On Friday 25th November St. Paul’s defeated St Patrick's & St. Bridget's Claudy in an entertaining encounter in blustery conditions at O’Cahan Park Dungiven.

St. Paul’s U16 Camogie

Our U16 camgoie team had an outstanding year, reaching the Ulster final against St. Catherine’s Armagh. This match took place on Saturday 10th December in Moortown.

St. Catherine’s started the stronger and scored two goals without reply. However St. Paul’s finished the half very strong with scores from a pointed free by Kate Bradley and a goal on the stroke of half time by Kate Mc Ferran.

After the restart a point by Laura O’Hagan left the minimum in the game. During this period of dominates St. Paul’s had the opportunity to take the lead and a shot by joint captain Niamh Campbell hit the upright and went wide.

The last ten minutes of the match was dominated by St. Catherine’s and they scored 1-02 without reply to leave the final score 3-02 to 1-02 in favour of St. Catherine’s.

Although the girls were extremely disappointed after the game, they can be very proud of their performance, as are the whole school community.  The majority of this panel are underage next year so there are high hopes for another successful year in 2012.
