Regular attendance at school has a positive impact upon pupil attainment. As a result in the College we closely monitor the attendance of all our pupils. On returning to school after an absence all pupils are requested to have an authorised note from parents recorded in their homework diary. Their Form Teacher will validate this and record it on the SIMS system. If a pupil is absent from school for more than three consecutive days Form Teachers will contact the parents and establish the reasons for their absence.

Our pupil attendance records are monitored by Heads of Year and Senior Managers. They work closely with Form Teachers and the Education Welfare Officer (EWO), so that patterns are identified and areas of concerns are highlighted. Punctuality is a high priority and all pupils who walk to school as pedestrians are expected to be in the school on time. Pupils travelling to school by bus are dropped off in the school grounds and under no circumstances should they disembark outside the school gates.
