One of the main ways in which a pupil’s progress in St.
Paul’s College will be measured is through continuous
assessment. This means that homework, class work,
independent project work and class test results will
be taken into consideration, to give a full picture of
how each pupil is progressing across the full range of
• Reporting will be conducted formally both in December
• The reports allow pupils to celebrate their success as they
are awarded certificates of achievement.
• The first term report will be based on continuous
monitoring and will record pupil progress on a scale of
A – D with A being the highest available score.
• The second report will be based on formal assessments
completed in timed conditions.
• During the course of the school year written progress
reports may be generated and form the basis of a parent/
teacher meeting if it is felt a particular student is underachieving.
• In Year 12 written reports will be based on the results of
mock examinations held in January.
• Parents are welcome to visit the College at any time as
the College operates an ‘Open Door Policy’. However
it would be appreciated if as a parent you notified the
school of your intended visit so that relevant members of
staff can be made available to discuss the issue.
